Here at Argos, we believe it is the people that make the company and not the other way around. That is why we have empowered our employees to be the drivers behind change to improve our work environment and the way we do business.
Our friendly, casual work environment enables a healthy and active lifestyle. We offer remote work flexibility, seasonal events both in-person and online, and a host of initiatives aimed at fostering connection.
As a growing company, we are always looking for ways to support our community through our “Giving Back” initiative.
Our employees constantly inspire us with ideas on how to give back to our local communities. Each year we support various charities, including Szlachetna Paczka in Poland and the Salvation Army in the US, during the holiday season. In addition, we have teamed up with Siemacha, a Polish organization that supports and helps children in tough family situations.
Behind every great company, there is a beginning…
Kimon Fountoukidis took his home-based translation work to the next level and opened up his own business forming Argos Company. Argos started off as a single language vendor (SLV) servicing mainly local clients and European MLVs providing translations into Polish. Fun Fact! The company is named after Kimon's dog, Argos.
In the year 2000, Argos Company received financing from a Krakow-based angel investor looking to help grow the business.
After receiving a boost of confidence, we began offering full service software localization solutions to our clients. This helped place Argos on the European map of reliable SLVs.
In 2002, we decided to change from being a Polish SLV to a regional Multi Language Vendor (MLV) specializing in Eastern European languages.
In 2003, Argos was certified with the ISO 9001 standard for having created and implemented a Quality Management System. In later years, we also became certified with ISO EN 15038, the European Quality Standard for Translation Service Providers and ISO 13485, Quality Management System suitable for Medical Devices and related services.
With Argos' ever-expanding service offering, we wanted to make more services available in-house and decided to set up a DTP team, dedicated to ensuring the highest-quality DTP work for our client base.
As our clients began to grow, we began to grow. Our clients needed more services and the demand to provide translations into other languages increased. We transformed ourselves into a full service MLV.
We set foot on the land of opportunity, setting up our first US-based office in the city of Chicago. Here our endeavour into the land of opportunity began.
In 2010 we decided to shift our business focus and client profile from LSPs to end-clients in the Life Sciences, Industrial Manufacturing and IT industries.
We wanted to be more than just a supplier to our clients. That is why in 2012 we revised our business model and moved from being simply a supplier to a global solutions provider and partner for our clients.
In 2014, we acquired a US-based language service provider, SH3 Inc., specializing in technical translations and solutions for the manufacturing industry. This opportunity paved the way for both businesses to reach new markets more easily.
In 2017, we acquired ENLASO Corporation, an enterprise language solutions provider based in Boulder, Colorado. This acquisition added to Argos’ strong existing team of US-based localization professionals, particularly in life sciences.
In 2020, Argos welcomed our new CEO Véronique Özkaya, who brings us the detailed knowledge and progressive vision she has gained from years of high-level management experience in the translation and localization industry.
In January 2021 we acquired Dublin-based Chillistore, a company that specializes in language quality assurance and inclusive localization. In October 2021, we acquired Venga Global, a San Francisco-based company that offers translation, localization, creative services, and data solutions with a roster of big name clients in the technology and human resources industries.
